… by train: From Wien Schwechat (VIE – Vienna International Airport), take the “CAT” (City Airport Train) to the Landstrasse/Wien Mitte station, where you will change to the commuter-rail system, either the S1, S2, S3, S4, S8, S9 or S15, getting off at the Matzleinsdorferplatz stop. Hotel Allegro is right across the way (total ride time: ca. 25 min.) From the airport take the S7 commuter train to the Landstrasse/Wien Mitte station, where you will change to the commuter-rail system, either the S1, S2, S3, S4, S8, S9 or S15, getting off at the Matzleinsdorferplatz stop. Hotel Allegro is right across the way (total ride time: ca. 35 min.) … by bus: From the airport take the shuttle bus, which waits right outside the airport’s arrival building. Ride the bus to the “Südbahnhof” station, and from there take tram No. 18 (towards Burggasse/Stadthalle) getting off at Matzleinsdorferplatz. Hotel Allegro is right across the way (total ride time: ca. 30 min.) … by taxi: The taxi fare will cost you about 40 Euro. Tip: agree on a fixed amount with the driver! Total drive time: ca. 30 minutes. Between 12 midnight and ca. 5:40 a.m.., there is no public transportation between Schwechat and Vienna. Taxis are always available. We would be more than happy to make arrangements for a taxi to or from the airport! Simply drop us an email or call the reception desk. |

Take the bus “Vienna Airport Lines” to Vienna’s Südbahnhof railway station, and from there take tram No.18 (towards Burggasse/Stadthalle) getting off at the Matzleinsdorferplatz. Hotel Allegro is right across the way. Total ride time ca. 2 ½ hours.

Coming from the Main Trainstation: From Main Trainstation take the commuter-rail train S1, S2, S3, S4, S8, S9 or S15 to the Matzleinsdorferplatz stop. Hotel Allegro is directly across from the stop (ride time: ca. 3 minutes). Or from the Main Trainstation take tram No. 18 (towards Burggasse/Stadthalle) getting off at the Matzleinsdorferplatz stop; Hotel Allegro is directly across from the stop (ride time: ca. 6 minutes – purchase a “Kurzstrecke” ticket). Coming from the Westbahnhof: From the Westbahnhof take tram No. 18 (towards Schlachthausgasse) or tram No. 6 (towards the Zentralfriedhof) getting off at the Matzleinsdorferplatz stop; Hotel Allegro is directly across from the stop (ride time: ca. 10 minutes). |

Coming by bike from Salzburg/Linz/Wachau (north of Vienna): Keep heading for downtown Vienna on the Donaukanal bike path (“Donauradweg 6”), in Spittelau (at the university of economics) turn right, enter the “Gürtel” outer ring road (at the Währingergürtel) and follow this to the Margaretengürtel. At Matzleinsdorfer Platz, turn left to Hotel Allegro! Coming by bike from Bratislava/Donauauen (south-east of Vienna): Keep heading for downtown Vienna along Donauradweg 6, following the Danube (in a northerly direction) as far as “Reichsbrücke” bridge, turning left onto the bridge and keeping on the bike path. You will pass the Praterstern, ride along the Praterstrasse and come to the Ring (“Stuben Ring”), where you will make a slight left and follow the Ring bike path to the State Opera, where you will then make a left onto Wiedner Haupstrasse – in the direction of “Laxenburg / Thermenradweg 51”, following Wiedner Hauptstrasse all the way to the end, turn onto Matzleinsdorfer Platz, where you will find our hotel! Discover Vienna from high in the saddle – things hit high gear by bike… Swing up on the saddle and lean into your pedals. Riding your bike, you will make good time, but you’ll still be slow enough to enjoy all of Vienna’s sights. Vienna actually boasts around 1,000 km of bike paths, bike lanes and bike routes through low-traffic zones. Our nice receptionists will be happy to let you know where you can borrow a bike, or have your own repaired as needed, when and how bikes can be transported on Vienna’s public transportation, and when city tours are offered by bicycle.
